ABOUT

I have worked on a variety of television and film over the years. All the while, I found myself constantly seeking the next sports film.  I've been fortunate to work on many and they are the true definition of passion pieces. For me, it's all I want to do when realized I could tell sports stories and help deserving people...I was hooked.  I'm blessed to be able to what I do & I can't wait to share more missions with you.

The beginning

I've been a Cubs fanatic since I was a kid growing up in Chicago Heights. From as early as I can remember, I was trying to help my team beyond just cheering in the stands. I would not only hold signs at games (Palmerio's Corner), but I would visit and call their hotel rooms to talk to them, naively thinking, my 9-year-old knowledge could give them an edge. Outside of Jose Canseco and David Cone, players were great and would humor me. In 1986, I managed to get the extensions for the Cubs front office and once was able to tell Dallas Green what I thought of his Davey Lopes for Frank DiPino trade. Many years later my journey down the sports rabbit hole would continue.

In late 2002, I decided to make a film about my beloved, Chicago Cubs. It was sorta an experiment, "What if a fan, went on a mission to get the Cubs to their first World Series title since 1908?" I began the mission in the spring of 2003 and to my surprise, I was able to get all access to the team. Players like Kerry Wood were beyond supportive. I followed the magical season and explored both the team and a fan base that was beginning to "just believe."  On my mission I got a World Series ring designed, a parade route mapped out by City Hall, tried to get a loan for team payroll and most importantly, helped my team make a trade "with pizza."

As most sports fans know, that season ended in tragic fashion, and I was there with cameras rolling.  Years later, I was able to release a hybrid film (half doc, half scripted) about my journey called, Chasing October. This film would become part of HBO's, Wait Til Next Year and ESPN's Catching Hell. Most importantly, the film changed my life in many ways and sent me on the journey I'm on today. In the years since I would take an active role in helping people in sports. After all, anything is easier than helping the Cubs win a World Series (only Theo can do that). I'm blessed to be able to follow my passion and I'm actively working on several missions in different sports. I look forward to sharing my missions with you. Success isn't guaranteed, but that won't stop me.  As I learned in making Chasing October, "Just Believe" anything can happen.
